“Al Companion always shows on the home screen.”

Nothing says “people love our AI tools!” like the decision to explicitly disallow your (paying!) users from turning them off.

I was initially frustrated by how these AI features keep getting forced on us by Apple, Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Adobe, etc… but the fact that it's been this long, and companies are only escalating this nonsense gives me some hope that other users hate it too, and maybe the worst will be over soon.

Being obnoxious with notifications about a new feature can be explained away as bad UI decisions pushed by marketing and growth departments. That's annoying, but not *necessarily* bad faith.

But turning things back on after they've been disabled, hiding the ability to disable, or explicitly saying “no” is just a way to pump up your stock price by saying x% of our users are using our AI features!
