For those who don't know me, I'm a greybeard sysadmin probably best known for work documenting, promoting, and developing tooling for the ZFS filesystem--or to some, for demystifying Wi-Fi mesh as that technology became more popular.

Continuing the introduction: I am a 53yo Southern USA'an bearded veteran CisHetWhiteGuy(tm), and I know a lot of folks have very justified concerns about that demographic. To those folks: I am an ally, first and foremost. I do not and will not tolerate transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, racism, religious bigotry, furry-bullying, or any other *ism I've forgotten to mention.

That is NOT "politics," and there should be absolutely nothing controversial about it. It's just a fact.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot. What kind of introduction would this be without a picture? I'm not actually Johnny Five, believe it or not!

And since I'm including images: visually not-so-spicy folks, I learned the value of ALT tags when I wrote for @arstechnica for a few years, and I pledge not only to use them myself, but to promote their use as well.

@RyuKurisu it always cracks me up when I pipe up from the back of a room at a conference and I see prairie-dogging all over the room in response to my (distinctive, I'm told) voice... and then I know who's been listening to the LNL family 😅

@jimsalter I didn't realize you put on the moderator hat on #Fosstodon! Thanks for taking part in making this community better! It is basically the only "social-social" media I participate in actively, good to see it staying sane and thriving.
