Ahh the fun of installing #Linux. My laptop had a free NVME SSD slot, so I ordered a Crucial 1TB to boot Linux from. I'm gonna keep Windows 10 on the other SSD for now and dual boot.

CachyOS refused to work, despite all my troubleshooting attempts. Looks like #PopOS it is!

Cachy works fine on the AMD T14 Thinkpad, but it doesn't like my Nvidia based HP Omen.
#PopOS is kinda ugly? Maybe it's Gnome? Gonna have to try a different DE.
I think I’m just gonna install #Debian and call it a day.
@68000 It’s gnome. With their (the distro maintainer’s) own shell. I’m much more satisfied with KDE, although used GNOME for years.

@68000 The problem is not GNOME, it's the quite frankly horrible icon pack and skin PopOS chose for the DE.

Speaking of, can I interest you in Fedora?

@nanianmichaels I guess I’ll tinker with the visuals in Gnome then, because KDE breaks Pop functionality.

@68000 You probably could have get it to work using the safe graphics option (if the installer has that) or setting nomodeset as kernel parameter for the kernel of the installer.

But it's nice to have a little variety.
