Brooke sought potions to help with the battle ahead and found Odwald with Susan, whom were having a conversation. About what? Nobody knows. ;) But Odwald expressed his respect to Brooke, admitting he saw her in his own sleeping visions of the Aspect, implying he knew she'd have a role to play.

With the ritual with the Borialis in place, Odwald prepares to make his sacrifice and restore his family's honor. However, Odwald doesn't want to say goodbye. Rolling a NATURAL TWENTY to resist Dominate Person, the heroes and the others convince him to let Odwald go. Odwald says his goodbyes and disappears with the Aspect of Fire, and life begins to return to the Scorched Grove.

heroes receive a rousing welcome. All of them get gold helmets with plumes belonging to important NPCs in the campaign. Alden gets Captain Vander's raptor plume. Perisia gets Riffin's strig plume. Hwaak gets Speaker Bita's gallus plume. Rondex gets Dean Windsworth's luma plume. And Brooke gets the late Odwald's corfum plume, presented by Susan of the Swamp.

As the heroes settle into their lives in a time of peace... the image of Odwald appears in Brooke's dreams, trying to warn her (...)
