@andypiper @helenleigh I agree. Now comes the but. Why do companies do this? Some do it because they were always going to. Others (at least claim) they struggle with viability with open hardware and having unprotected designed in a marketplace where designs are immediately copied in other markets.
I respect those that try, those that do and those that are at least transparent about the process.
