It's partly my upbringing (traumatised, disabled parents; society and its traumatising expectations; cis gendering that obv fails on trans and nonbinary people, resulting in 'corrective' violence and worse health outcomes).
It's also partly from my commitment to honor every person as equally valuable and worthy as anyone else, fully regardless of their traits.
Finally, people in the US and in the UK do not have enough holidays.
We might as well allocate some of those days to prompt celebration and uplifting of groups who tend to get pushed out of most people's awareness.
