This is one of the reasons I hate the new book covers.

The CoS cover is particularly spoilertastic.

The cover spoils:

- The monster is a snake - Harry fights it with a sword - The snake’s eyes get injured - Fawkes shows up - Ginny and The Sorting Hat are present during the battle

I actually asked my mom to wrap the covers of the subsequent books in brown paper so I wouldn’t be spoiled.
