A/C tip - A method to fix smushed condenser fins 🧵 - Get yourself a PLASTIC razor blade (often used to scrape 3D print beds). It's helpful to get a bright color you personally see well, contrast to your workspace (ie - don't get green if you're doing this outside).

The AC needs to have been off a while and the condenser completely cooled down.

Take a close look - the smushed fins overlap each other. You want to start on the side with the top most fold over.

Slip the plastic razor blade in between two fins either above or below the damage, whichever direction works better for you. Working your way in to the folded over part, you're going to use the blade to lift the folded fin straight again. Repeat with the next fin. Yes, this is fucking tedious, cope.

You won't get them perfect, but the more air that can get between them the better.

DANGER: DO NOT USE A METAL BLADE!
I recommend safety glasses, just in case.

Risks: It's not especially fragile (unless you ignored my warning and are using a metal blade, you numpty!), but if you fuck up badly enough you could puncture the condenser and get sprayed with refrigerant. It's a pipe. I'd say it's roughly as robust as ridged brake line.
