The End (of Windows 10) is nigh! KDE and many other Free Software communities kick off "End of 10" campaign - KDE Social

On 14 October, #Microsoft will end support for #Win10. This will turn hundreds of millions of computers that cannot upgrade to #Win11 into security risks and #eWaste. Yours may be one of them! But what if you could make your current one fast and secure again? Learn more: https://endof10.org/press [https://endof10.org/press] Saved a device from the bin? The end of manifest v2 is also nigh, less than a week away. It’s all just coming crashing down this year.
I’m ootl on this and after a brief google search it seems like a big thing to be ootl on. What are some of the consequences of v2 ending?
The consequences of v2 ending is that you should use a non-Chromium-based browser, like Firefox or one of it’s forks.
Oh well that’s good for me at least sounds like it will be business as usual? I’ve been using Firefox since I think 2008

Same.

It’s also likely that Google will use/require manifest v3 to access some of their services (like YouTube) in order to more strictly apply DRM and prevent adblockers/third party players. That hasn’t happened yet, but it’s the kind of enshittification that these companies like to do.
