I put the hardware together months ago but only now had a chance to do the code side. I had ChatGPT help out and.. it was great!? A million times better than the last time I asked it to write code. It worked well because I knew exactly what the code was doing and could easily spot and have it fix the bugs it produced. Honestly I think the biggest help is it leapfrogged me over the early steps where it's too easy to get distracted thinking about larger-scale problems that don't matter yet
As @mrballistic says, it's like a having an intern who's not very smart but extremely fast. One big downside is it mimics your writing style so it was constantly adding dumb jokes :(
@dave wait. Was it mimicking /my/ writing style?
@mrballistic I hadn't considered that, but now that you mention it.. πŸ€” 😝
@mrballistic aha! I just hit a checkpoint where it saves context and in the "manage" dialog that came up it shows "Prefers responses that sound more like an actual person and less like a 'creepy AI.'" and also "Would like slightly weird responses in the scammer time-wasting scenario" from a completely different conversation where I had it replying to a catfishing text πŸ˜†
@dave that’s why I jump around between models. Gotta keep the robots guessing.
