oh wow this is such a cool idea, source code and live visualization here https://github.com/vnglst/pong-wars/
@djlink it's like splatoon pong, add some paddles and that's a sweet game!
@djlink I wonder what's the greatest difference anyone has observed

@djlink Mm, I recall @vnglst posting this around a year ago, it inspired a bunch of people to write their own versions.

I managed to bash out one for the Commodore 64 in a few weekends: https://hachyderm.io/@Two9A/111974181833797753

Attached: 1 image I think it's finally actually done: #c64 #Pongwars It's _so_ slow: the calculations take more than one frame per frame, so it runs at 30fps; this run is mostly taken at Warp speed emulation (10x). Much of that is because I kept BASIC running, to reuse its number output routines. Somehow this ended up being 800 lines of assembly: https://gist.github.com/Two9A/8b2f1d6e750e4ae762b2b9e2d7512473 I'll find a few spare moments to write up articles on some of the subtleties, expect those in the coming ...months. #retrocomputing

@djlink this reminds me of the multi-agent dev I used to do. You just can't stop watching and trying new initial configurations to see what happens. 🤩

@djlink
I knew this.
I would like to see a 3 balls version in a circle.

[edit]
I find this one, better than a circle!
