98% of all new power production in the US has been from #solar and #wind in Q1 2025. These are not only the cheapest ways to generate power now, they’re also the quickest to deploy at a time when electricity prices are through the roof.

The House-passed budget bill was crafted to do maximum damage to the power grid. It won’t just hurt solar customers and 300k workers—but everyone who pays a power bill. Or who breathes! There will be thousands of deaths every year from pollution and blackouts.

Please call your Senators and ask them to leave the investment tax credits for solar and wind energy in place. It’s not just about “the economy,” it’s a matter of life and death. Many will not survive a collapse of the US power grid, a rapid increase in fossil fuel pollution, and the mass destruction from accelerating the heating of the global climate.

Yuck. I hate asking people to “call your representatives.”

If that doesn’t work for you, you could always just blow up an oil pipeline or set a police precinct on fire.

Not inciting, just venting. 🤬

More seriously, 2025 is looking like a good year to install solar and a battery in your own home. If you can do it before the end of the year, you’ll save $1000s, have power during heatwaves, and do your small part for a better world. This issue is far more consequential than most people realize.

@impermanen_ man, nothing makes me unhappy to live in apartment like not being able to go solar.

@impermanen_

Lately I have seen more framing like this. I hope it clarifies reality for some people.
