I just discovered the USB-C ports on my work computers are recognized as “fast” chargers by my phone, and now I’m curious if my Framework laptop also does this.

I didn’t know PCs and laptops would output more than 5V.

@SuperSluether
It might be Android being kinda dumb and seeing 5V 2 amp as "fast".

@JovialKatherine this is on an iPhone; I think it only recognizes a charger as “fast” when it’s putting out 9V. At least, it doesn’t recognize any of my other 5V 2A chargers as “fast”. But yes, my Android tablet does have that behavior and it amuses me.

Edit: never mind, I was using a 5V 3A charger earlier and that one was recognized as a “fast” charger by iOS as well.

@SuperSluether
Weird. I have an Android, and I've seen "charging", "charging slowly", "fast charging", "charging rapidly", and "rapid charging". Which one comes up depends on the charger brick and wire it looks like.
@JovialKatherine some of them like my old OnePlus even have proprietary “ultra-fast charging”
