The United Nations Open Source United community is proud to announce a major milestone: The Government of the French Republic became the first national government to endorse the UN Open Source Principles. Additionally, 19 organizations joined France in endorsing the principles, underscoring growing international support for open source collaboration within the UN system.

@codegouvfr @ambnum @numerique_gouv @Armavica let's see if it will go beyond nice words… as the recent French governments have a long tradition of talking big but doing precious little, if not even actively acting contrary to what they've publicly said they'd do…
@metacosm Indeed, I am not holding my breath, but even if it is just posturing, it is still a good signal, and an accumulation of postures might accidentally result in concrete action. It is also one more reference/support in argumentation. It could also inspire other countries and institutions
