It's so annoying that there isn't a nice way in Unreal to switch materials on objects for different render targets. I've tried hacking it into my own SceneCaptureComponent2D but not only does it not work, it tanks the frame rate while it's doing it. :/ We had this in Ogre3d in 2002 ffs
@sinbad yeah, doing anything that looks like a custom render pass on the scene is immensely complicated. Just doing it correctly took me 2 months. Most other renderers I worked on it's a single line of code.
