Decided to give @instapaper another go as GoodLinks wasn’t really working for me and it’s good now, really good, like people care about it - when did that happen and why hasn’t anyone talked about it.
@digitalpardoe What specifically about GoodLinks wasn’t working well? I was considering switching to it (from Pocket) and curious about your experience.

@zoradi The lack of web-access was a big one for me as I can’t iCloud sync on my work device.

I also didn’t like that it’d re-download each article per-device (understandable with it being local though) but it actually meant that some articles wouldn’t download on some devices because of Cloudflare captchas and the like.

The online services also do a better job of keeping a permanent archive of something you’ve read for future reference too.

@zoradi If you’re unhappy with Pocket I’d give Instapaper a go, it seems much less buggy and keeps things as simple as GoodLinks does.
@digitalpardoe Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the experience with Pocket has really deteriorated over the last couple years :/ My only concern with Instapaper is that many of the links I save are videos (YT, Vimeo, etc) and while Instapaper technically supports them it seems very focused on reading/articles.
@zoradi I don’t use it for video but I’ve just given YT a go and they at least play in the YT player in the app and go to their own “Video” section - not much more than that though but I can’t really remember what Pocket offers.
