moonglumPeople don’t need new computers or phones anymore because their current 3-5 year old ones are more than fast enough, and new hardware doesn’t make any difference. So big tech says: You need new computers/phones because “AI”. But… the “AI” people use is just a website with a text area 🤷 So yeah, if you could switch out the battery, no one needs new phones or computers, not even those that use those “AI”s 🤷 I guess Apple and Google will do their best to slow down the computers via the OS then.
Daniel Westheide@moonglum They don’t need AI for that. Not supporting old devices with OS updates has worked like a charm for years. If your old device cannot talk SSL with any mail servers any more, you will probably buy a new Mac at some point.
