The future is here...

#AI

@ChrisMayLA6 “Send reinforcements we’re going to advance”
“Send three and fourpence were going to a dance”
@ChrisMayLA6 This reminds me of that time I asked DeepSeek (as a test when all the craze about it happened) to make comparison between GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 4090 and the fucking thing wrote 8 huge paragraphs of text in which it didn't write any actual differences, just bunch of "it might be this or that" but without ANY data. I was shocked at how it managed to write so much shit while containing no actual useful data.
@rejzor @ChrisMayLA6 Hallucinations are a feature, not a bug.
@ChrisMayLA6 finally, the real "internet of things" 😅

@ChrisMayLA6

Innovation they call it…

@ChrisMayLA6 Made me laugh.... thanks!
@ChrisMayLA6 Thanks to AI, we now hope to reach this year’s maximum entropy / minimum useful work goals by May.
@ChrisMayLA6 More cynically, this could depict the student writing an essay with AI, and the prof marking the essay with AI.

@BashStKid

ha ha, one contributory factor in my retirement from academia

@ChrisMayLA6 @evawolfangel Habs die Tage noch gesagt, hier nun als Comic! :D
@ChrisMayLA6 Cynicism (justified IMHO) aside, let’s see what difference the #AI phenomenon makes to productivity. Am expecting vast gains /s
@ChrisMayLA6
Reminds me of the broken telephone game we used to play as children :D
@ChrisMayLA6 A sad future, indeed. One day I wrote a huge message to one of my old classmates and he replied with, "Why use AI bro, you could have just called."
How do I make him understand that I spent time weaving my emotions into words...
@ChrisMayLA6 It's only missing the amount of fossil fuel burnt and CO2 emitted to do this useless work...
@ChrisMayLA6
What a future. We are gonna need an AI to filter through all the AI garbage.

@ChrisMayLA6 and while this happens, hundreds of gigawatts and hundreds of liters of water are going to waste every hour.

amazing what greed can do.

@ChrisMayLA6 And it won't even be the same bullet point . . .

@ChrisMayLA6

Yeah. I remember when MS Word's auto correct feature came out and there was all this angst about how people would forget how to spell.

They not only DID forget how to spell, they forgot grammar and even how to pronounce stuff.

There was always a certain amount of that, but now it's gotten so much worse, you see it on network news esp. Educated ppl!

So not down with AI taking control - for a lot of reasons, but also b/c it will dumb us down to point & grunt levels.

@ChrisMayLA6 yup, it's so this. And everything in likedin is this.
@ChrisMayLA6 If that was all that AI would do for us, we will not be cooked.
@ChrisMayLA6 important to note that those bulletpoints are likely different.
@ChrisMayLA6 the latter is how you should use it.
@ChrisMayLA6 unfortunately it's not socially acceptable to just send the short bullet point. so as long as professional environments value bullshit, i see no problem with this.
@ChrisMayLA6 My AI bot assures me this comic is hilarious.

@ChrisMayLA6 Neurotypicals sometimes, I swear...

(boss culture does Not help)

@ChrisMayLA6 One of my favorite sayings lately is "why should I bother to read something you could not be bothered to write?"
