One of the demonstrators, Sugar, described the protests as "a public act of grief, resistance and solidarity to highlight the hypocrisy of the ruling. If the Supreme Court can see these woman legally as men, then they’ll have zero issue with them going tops off.”

“This ruling, and the subsequent EHRC guidance aims to segregate trans people from safe spaces that they have for used for decades without issue. We are demanding that the Scottish government stand up for its trans citizens by fighting this ruling and appealing to the European Court of Human Rights.”"

A group of white trans women, all wearing black pants and either black tape across their mouths, or in one case, a black KN95 mask. All have their right arms painted red, and they are all holding a white rose. In an act of protest, none of them are wearing anything to cover their breasts.

The woman in the KN95 (right side) is holding a sign, as well as the woman on the far left.

The sign on the left says: They ignored our voices, refused our submissions, did not consider the impact on trans lives. An attack on one is an attack on all.

The sign on the right says: This is an act of grief, resistance, and solidarity. We urge the Scottish government to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
