I would like to see more from certain people I follow but who aren't on my home server.
'Home' gives too much noise
'Live feeds' only gives stuff from my instance.
'Lists' looks like it could work but I can't seem to add people to a list, it just sits there with them greyed out.
Ideas please?

@Niall I usually add a person to a list via the person's profile -> [...] -> Add or remove from lists.

(Note this option only appears once you already follow someone.)

I think, though am not certain, that the box you're seeing in the list is intended for searching among the people you've already added to the list.
