If you’re in the EU and you opted out of Meta training generative AI on your Facebook, Threads and Instagram posts and pictures, Meta are requiring you to opt out *again* or they will continue training on your data.

Users have until May 27 2025 to opt out again or forever lose the right. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2025/05/meta-is-making-users-who-opted-out-of-ai-training-opt-out-again-watchdog-says/

@GossiTheDog clearly, there's never been a better time to just delete meta property accounts. I did it a month ago, and while I had no choice but to set some long distance friendships on fire at the same time, I wasn't going to be held to ransom by the fascist plasticine android any more.

I do keep finding myself going to open FB/IG which is really kind of jarring to have unavoidably discovered how much of a reflex it had become to any indecision about what to do for the next 60s.
