Ultimately, while initiatives such as the ASD signal an intent to improve policing practises, we must recognise that no amount of reform will fix the problems of a system built to further colonisation. If we want to engage in working for true justice that prioritises Indigenous autonomy, equality and cultural integrity, we need to look to the complete abolition of policing and prisons, for, as Kendrick Lamar (2024) states "..you not a colleague, you a fucking coloniser"
