The fundamental problem with making "DEI" your bogeyman:

Everyone likes Diversity (we're all different, and that makes life fun).
Everyone likes Equity (it's another word for fairness).
Everyone likes Inclusion (no one wants to be left out).

@gleick Have you asked the White Supremacists?

They don't like diversity, they have standards for the whiteness of your skin.

They are all for equity, as long you fulfil that condition, then you get all the same equal whips for discipling your subhuman slaves.

The Klan was from day one fully inclusive for all white racists.

And before you say something, American exceptionalism is the same thing, with slightly greater inclusiveness in relation to who might be part of the master race.

Religions don't like those things. They want everyone to:
- Act and think the same
- Toe the line
- Accept and be part of their hierarchy
- Exclude those who do not comply or who follow other patriarchs, in some cases exclude women and/or people of diverse sexuality
