@martin I can help. However, I do live in Florida so the commute would be long and expensive. So maybe just advice.
Manufacturer and Model should be good... if it's not Apple
The quick and dirty tip... is to
- take off the bottom of the laptop
- disconnect the battery and keep the external power cord disconnected
- hold the power button down for 30 seconds, and then release it
- connect the external power cord, but keep the battery disconnected
- tap/press the power button once and let it boot all the way up
- do a shutdown at the login screen
- disconnect the external power cord; reconnect the battery; place the cover back on
- connect the external power cord, but don't press the power button... Wait about 5-10 seconds
- tap/press the power button and it should start up
