Daring Fireball

@daringfireball For what it’s worth, just released an iOS app yesterday, and the app review was single step, no questions - I hadn’t had this happen before.

Maybe they are loosening up a bit?

@tsturm @daringfireball congrats! Link?
@nickchuckwalter @daringfireball It's nothing super-exciting - I was tired of trying to find a PDF/Text reader app that was not "in-app purchase" or full of ads. So I made one: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/riidaa/id6743688839
‎Riidaa

‎Riidaa is a no-nonsense PDF and text reader. It creates a single bookmark for each new text and keeps track of your last read page. There is no other data being stored and no data transmitted, no in-app purchases.

App Store
@tsturm Thomas. Thx for this. I downloaded it. Love the fact it keeps the page. Something I can’t work out though. I’m in safari and it has opened a pdf document. I choose the share icon but the Riidaa app isn’t an option even if I select Edit. It shows more apps but not Riidaa. Is there something I can do to open it to Riidaa without saving the pdf first plz ?

@jamesshoebottom First of all, thanks for using the app!

The app doesn't register itself as a PDF reader in the OS, so I guess that's why Safari wouldn't even give it as an option. I would have to look into that to see how to enable that.

But I mostly envisioned this app to work with PDFs that are on-device in the File app, since that was my original use case that I tried to solve. So right now you might have to first download the PDF to open it in Riidaa.

@tsturm Hi Thomas. Thx. Yeah I thought that the reason but just wanted to check in case I had missed some setting somewhere.
@jamesshoebottom Sorry for the inconvenience. I've added this as a TODO for the next release.
