@daringfireball You're being too critical of this. I'm sure you'd come around to agreeing with this policy if you, say, had dinner with Donald Trump. Or with Stephen Miller. I assume Miller would let you join in with a straw when he goes out vampiring at night.

My point is they're nice people really, you just have to have dinner with them to see it.

And if it was a bribe, doesn’t Apple has a moral fissure far worse than undelivered AI features? Seems like a relevant topic for the highest-profile Apple blogger to cover, right? Apple leadership bribing public officials? Definition of moral failure, right? WWSJD?
