#tariffs

@adafruit does anyone understand how this figure is calculated? I am admittedly bad at math, but I don't understand at all how we get to $36,126.46 on this invoice.

125% + 20% + 25% = 165%

The sum of all non IMPORT EXPORT DUTIES on that invoice is $1007.84, 165% of $1007.84 is $1662.93, so $1007.84 + $1662.93 = $2670.77, right?

$36,126.46 is over 3,584% of $1007.84, right? How do you get there from 125% + 20% + 25%?

@bajabanjo @adafruit
Usually you don't use addition for percentages but multiplication

Adding fees of 125% and 25% and 65% is price×(1+125/100)×(1+25/100)×(1+65/100)... it's price×4.64
Yes, the final price is 4.64 times the initial price (increase of 364%)
