when i done this, i also have a system of low-effort noises my friends can understand, so i can sometimes comment on the conversation without putting all my energy into speaking ​​ would recommend doing the same, if talking is spoon-expensive for you too ​​

@icantchangethisname my species sometimes communications by clicks, especially in my home country, so it was easy for me to start
i taught more common click patterns to my human frens, so i can communicate when tired/nonverbal
for example, if the scientists asked me how i was feeling, could click 5 times to tell "5/10, just feeling ok but not dying"
also, clicks go through blankets really well. pattern is understandable even if wanting to bury my head in cozy world ​​
