I put up a poll earlier but botched it, so, here's attempt two:

I'm nearing the point where I'm ready to open source
#mediathing ! I've finished the last big code refactor and now all that's left is to move it out of my personal monorepo; which will surely be a large undertaking itself.

Which means the most important question is in front of me: hg or git. You'd think for me it would be obvious. But, I know not many people are familiar with hg these days and so I'm considering git,
IF doing so would have significantly more people interested.

This would be in addition to direct downloads of the built thing.

@amy more likely to look if git, very likely to look regardless.
@OtherwiseMundane oh thank you I hope you find it interesting and useful!
@amy turned up for the smut, stayed for the possibility of replacing Jellyfin with something better!
@OtherwiseMundane oh gosh - I do want to set expectations that media-thing is in no way a replacement for Jellyfin if you are using any of it's remote streaming apps like for mobile or chromecast. Media-thing has always been optimized for a butt-in-desk-chair viewing experience, since it is a vscode extension after all 😅

It's something I'm starting to really work on changing because I sorely wanting at least music streaming on my phone.
