“I believe we are in crisis. The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest.” #MonMothma

@drahsturgis very true. Fascist don't want to convince you of another truth. The want to destroy truth that can hold them accountable
@drahsturgis
Where do you think the writers got inspiration from, for this?
@drahsturgis I didn't reach adulthood until the aughts, but I'd guess that "the loss of an objective reality" started ramping up in the 80s and 90s. In the US at least.
@frigginglorious As someone who reached adulthood in the 90s, I tend to agree with you. I was too young, white, and in denial to have enough perspective to truly see it till the aughts, but looking back, yea.

@drahsturgis How about you add a CN "Spoiler: Andor Season 2" (or the episode number) to this?

You don't have to repost it, just edit.

Edit: If you feel like it's relevant to others with no interest for Andor, you can just add this to the spoiler warning in the CN. You can put quite a lot of text in there.

@drahsturgis Welcome to the Rebellion!
@drahsturgis You lose your freedom when you give it away.

@drahsturgis Goosebumps. This is why I think they decided to finish with a second series rather than go for the projected five.

At the speed at which Disney is capitulating to the regime, Andor's writers would never have been able to put out stuff like this a few months from now, never mind in three years' time.
