EDIT: I still have one laptop to give away, but please note I can send it within the continental U.S. ONLY! Due to shipping restrictions on electronics with batteries, I cannot ship outside the US, sorry. I found out the hard way that I cannot ship these laptops outside the continental U.S. Sorry, folks... I do have one more laptop available to give out if anyone needs it. First come first served. I have Windows 10 installed on it and TPM2 disabled in BIOS so it won't auto-upgrade to Win11 unless you enable it first (hopefully). It is NOT for gaming, but has decent hardware for most general home/office use outside of that. (Honestly, it's better than the laptop I've been using these last 3 yrs)

i'm new to fedi and don't actually know how to dm someone yet, but my mom is on a fixed income and we've been looking for a laptop for her for a few months so she can do her disability/medicare/housing paperwork on something other than her phone

i feel like such a luddite rn

This will vary a bit by your app, but if you're responding to somebody on Mastodon there should be a toggle towards the top of the post to adjust the audience for the post.

"Only people mentioned" is analogous to a direct message.

@sindarina From CA, USA, to anywhere within reason if the shipping cost isn't more than the cost of a local used laptop, and preferably if you're able to help cover at least some of the shipping if it is going out of state.
