In about an hour I'm going to be taking to Twitch once more, kicking off a new project for the next few Tuesday evenings: assembling a limited-edition @rc2014 kit from a couple of years back. It's been staring accusingly at me from Goods Inward for far too long, so let's get it built!

That'll be at https://twitch.tv/baljemmett from around 2120 BST, and will definitely involve me asking chat to identify colours for me (#spoilers) so hopefully at least some of you will be there!

Will be going live in an hour with part 2 of my RC2014 Pro Pride kit build - hoping to get the CPU module and one of the supporting modules built this evening. Join me from around 2120 BST at https://twitch.tv/baljemmett if you want to heckle my construction skills!

I'll be streaming part 3 of my RC2014 Pro Pride kit build this evening - looks like it'll probably be the ROM and RAM modules, although I might be tempted to do the serial board in place of one of them... Maybe I'll let chat decide that for me!

If that sounds like fun, or you just enjoy skewing polls, join me in around an hour (aiming for 2115 BST) at https://twitch.tv/baljemmett!

Going live in an hour with part 4 of my RC2014 Pro Pride kit build - this week we're going to build the serial I/O board, which is the last module required for a minimal configuration. Join me at https://twitch.tv/baljemmett from 2130 BST and let's find out if we can successfully boot BASIC before bedtime!

Part 5 of my #RC2014 Pro Pride build tonight, and I think I'll look at tackling the CompactFlash board - I think it's the simplest of the fancy dye-sublimated boards, so it should make a good starting point for those. Hope I don't make a mess of it!

If all goes to plan we should have CP/M booting by the end of the stream, so if you're like me and have a peculiar interest in the system perhaps you'd like to join me from 2130 BST (just under an hour's time) at https://twitch.tv/baljemmett.

Going live in an hour with part 6 of my RC2014 Pro Pride kit build; I'm planning to work on the VGA terminal board this evening. Join me from 2130 BST at https://twitch.tv/baljemmett and hopefully in the meantime I'll have found my USB OTG pigtail so I can plug a keyboard into it for testing!

(Yes, it's more #SelfPromo, sorry folks. I realised I'd been accidentally announcing the last few instalments as quiet-public so they weren't showing up in the #RC2014 hashtag, whoopsy.)

@baljemmett Stop apologising.
@chloeraccoon ... the apologies shall continue until morale imrpoves. Or at least, until I find something other than my own streams to post about!
@baljemmett Should we just tick them off by colour?
@chloeraccoon Might be a good idea at this point! I realised last week that I've been putting them in the wrong slots so far, so that's something to correct once we've got some of the dye-sub boards built...
@baljemmett It was 2120 last night, aiming for 2115 now... any advance on 2115? I'm open to the floor... ;)
@chloeraccoon Well spotted ;) I thought I'd bring it forward to 2100 because last week ran rather later than is ideal, but in the end it turned out I'm not sure I'll be ready by then... Bleh!
@baljemmett It's funny how you get less heckling on your own stream than you get from the bot...

@baljemmett Sorry, I missed this again last night - but am enjoying catching up right now.

What size resistor did you use for the backplane? Should be 2k2.

@rc2014 I did use the 2k2 but I think the main issue was I happened to be looking directly on-axis at the LED when I turned it on for the first time. It's much more reasonable from the side; we'll chalk it up to user error, I reckon!
@baljemmett Been there for a while ;)
@baljemmett Just caught up on this, and it looked like a great stream. I'll make sure I tune in next week!

@rc2014 Oh, thank you!

Can you put my mind at rest, though, and tell me whether I completely hallucinated the whole "RC2014 kits coming with a bag of sweets" thing? I could have sworn I'd seen it mentioned in other people's builds!

@baljemmett No, sorry, I have never sent out sweets with my kits. I normally include stickers though. And I use those blue/white striped bags for individual modules. But never anything edible.
