Tuned up/down 20 late afternoon and fell over the current usual dx suspects. Ravii from the Seychelles was a near miss today bc he went qrt early. But Abdulla A66A from Sharjah was there & as polite as ever. If you qso with A66A you will be in this case showered with blessings for your entire family plus "dankeschöns" and "Aufwiedersehns". So one responds with "Shukrens" and "Massalamas" & the goodbyes are longer than the qso 😎

Thought I would find my friend Amir 4XTT, but nope maybe tomorrow. Round 18:30 UTC the band started to calm down and all of a sudden all stations on 20 seemingly disappeared. They were all piled up on 14.270 for Tugce TA3TGC. This YL from Bursa Turkey apparently operates a remote station via laptop & Tugce is an excellent 3 dx qsos/min contest style op. Called once => "go ahead mikebravo station" => 59er.
More on HF to come 2morrow as I am back @qth
3/more #hamradio on HF was no phun for 2 days due to another magnetic storm with special fuqs to your beloved auroras!
No dx available, 1 pile-up with GM8OFQ Orkney Islands. But there was Alexis UR9MC [Ukraine] on 14.210 who would not disclose his location. Alexis is a MD and this is the vehicle he is in when /mobile, a field hospital.
You need to have guts of steel to operate amateur radio on HF from UA because stakes are high to become a target. Alexis did not give a fuq...

... and I guess he was in a rather secure location. So we took our time in less than fair condx supported by some QRO on both sides. 😎
No politics of course just telling each other our tech & whereabouts & stay stafe & me adding a "slava Ukrainiy". Made his day and made mine. Kilos of 73s & mutual blessings.
Mostly Ukrainian & Belarus corps of the Red Army defeated Berlin & Vienna Nazi rule 80 years ago.

Bands shaky on Friday after the magnetic storms Searched for commemorative stations celebrating the victory In WW2 as usual during the past years. Not a single Russki station bands up & down. Only exception UO80V Valeriy from Kazakhstan. Eyerybody passing by on 20 qso-ing politely like me. But that was it.
Noticed a single Russki station in the pile-ups later onn Friday.
Pretty astonishing.
73s for tonight de OE3EMB needing horizontal polarisation. 😎

Bands were shaky, condx changed wildly from fair to abhorrent and back on Friday. Love these day three condx after a sunflare hit, because you never know what's next.
Early on nobody on 15 meters but 1 single station cq-ing on 21.290. That was BH7FFR from Changsa in Southern China. Easy peasy qso with Robert, the director of the local centre for contemporary arts. 8.100 Km dx. And then all along the afternoon my favourite sport, breaking into hf pile-ups
