Hey #foh #AudioEngineer crowd,

I'm looking for a reliable stand-alone sound meter when mixing live shows

I don't do shows all year long, but I'd like to have something that is reliable but also affordable. The shows are starting to be mid-sized and I'd like to add this to my arsenal đŸ¤—

Would like to order from Germany and not Amazon. Found this one, any good? https://de.trotec.com/produkte-services/messgeraete/emission/schallpegel-messgeraete/sl400-schallpegel-messgeraet/

SL400 Schallpegel-Messgerät - TROTEC

Professionelles Phonometer zur Schallpegelmessung mit Datenlogger-Funktion und Kalibrierzertifikat nach ISO

@stvfrnzl Tagging @me because he probably has an opinion on this.
@stvfrnzl for sound measurement devices the most important thing is to get it regularly calibrated. Ideally once a year, some of these bastards can drift like crazy

Having said that, I only really worked with the DB meters from NTI Audio and Phonic but that SL400 looks really decent for the price.

@me @mahryekuh thanks, appreciate it!
You are welcome! Also don't forget to check local regulations whether or not you need to have a certification of calibration with you when you take it into the field.

I know in NL it isn't always required (indoor venues no, outdoor events yes), but it's always good to check.
