The president of the United States, who earlier this week quipped that he’d “like to be pope,” posted this Friday evening on one of his social media accounts.

@w7voa

Let him be Pope. 1. He would do less damage. 2. The cross he would wear would set him alight.

@pewnack there's a reason why there is a separation between religion and state in most Western countries. I'm not sure he would do less damage as a pope, he might double down on his crusade against Muslims for instance. @w7voa

@karelbrits @w7voa

But he can't impose any sort of meaningful restrictions on their travel, impose economic sanctions, launch extrajudicial killings by drones etc.

The Pope is just the head of the Roman Catholic church, he has no economic, military, or worldwide intelligence capabilities. At least none that I am aware of, or at least not on the scale of the US.

@pewnack in his mind it's not either being the pope or being president. It's being the pope and president at the same time. @w7voa

Edit: imagine him installing the doge department at the Vatican to see whatever money he could save (transfer to his personal account) from cancelling 'woke' projects in the Catholic church.
