What an incoherent thought by
@TheEconomist #byinvitation guest-writer and former Heritage Foundation #Project2025 author Paul Dans. The reference to Franklin D Roosevelt as a start of progressive politics that has to be destroyed and the reference to Trump's real estate background make a quasi intellectual but still hollow argument.

Trump’s revolution is the only way to save America, says the architect of Project 2025

Paul Dans argues that the system needed smashing and rebuilding

The Economist
He might have a point that the US government needs to balance it's books and get stuff done. The irony is that most Democratic presidents delivered without smashing everything. And most Republican presidents delivered the opposite: greater public debt due to the idiotic tax breaks and a diminishing of the already shallow social security the Americans are offered.
So I would declare the opposite from mr Dans: the USA needs more progressive Democratic presidents like Clinton, Obama or Biden who created great investments for the public good will balancing the federal finances. They managed this without wrecking the whole system!
