@lauren I remember going to Berlin as kids in the 70s. My sister and I were scared, so hid under a blanket in the back of the car. The machine-gun wielding guards were not amused.

I also still remember the palpable sense of evil from the wall, looking into East Germany.

@lauren God, I hated the FDR border entries because they were built to intimidate.

Readers, also note that _all_ Victor factions (Soviet, USA, British and French soldiers) were not supposed to be checked for transit. Only private people 😭

Thus the Berlin Air Bridge was possible. 🐻🏙️🛫🛬
