@cavyherd @paul @pluralistic I also checked out Sarah Wynn-Williams's Careless People and I had to just put it down. It's far more awful than I could even imagine. They did exactly the kind of things I was telling people they could do, such as sway elections by changing the algorithms, but I honestly never thought anyone was evil and greedy enough to do that. And all of them are only as smart as enriching themselves and not anyone else.
