@mgorny Tried doing something like that on the checkpoint at Imbil last Friday morning.

Fired up Audacity… pointed it at the internal microphone (via `pipewire`), hit record… at that point the Ivy Bridge Core i5 running the show decided it was a little warm and started up the cooling fan…

Of course, when I played it back, the cooling fan is all I could hear.

@stuartl, so phones heave one advantage after all. That said, I probably got such a good recording only because it was really loud.
