I don’t get the joke about the game engines, but I get the one about the autoerotic reference.

In Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” (one of my favorite plays) Estragon and Vladimir are waiting for Godot at the side of a dusty road. They are getting kind of annoyed of waiting as every day is the same but they don’t leave since Godot said he’d come. The only part of the scenery is a tree. So they consider hanging themselves at a point, less dramatically and more so as a result of (slightly suicidal) boredom. And one of them tells the other one that you get an erection when hanging yourself. They eventually realize that their belts are too short to hang themselves and decide to bring a longer rope tomorrow.
