Dear Canadians:

Please, please, from the bottom of my heart, please vote in today's election. Take it from a USian. Polls can get it *very* wrong, high turnout does *not* mean your side is winning. You can lose an election you thought you had in the bag. Your vote is more needed than you know.

The above plea goes triple for anyone who may happen to be in Ontario's Carleton riding. ( https://globalnews.ca/news/11149672/poilievre-rallies-carleton-reports-could-lose-seat/ )

I am not allowed to vote. I hope in the next election, I will be able to.

Poilievre schedules rally in Carleton amid reports he could lose his seat

The Conservative leader has represented the rural Ottawa riding since 2004, but faces a determined push by Liberals to unseat him amid slumping polls.

@mcc yes, polls had Trump with no chance of winning in 2016, and then previous little chance in 2024, and we saw how that turned out. PLEASE vote...instead of a competent, qualified president, we ended up with this clown show, in part because many of us seemed to think the election was in the bag. It turns out that the only one in the bag was Whiskey Pete, our staggeringly incompetent SecDef.
@sspopovich this is just flat-out false. Polls in 2016 showed trump had a roughly 1 in 3 chance of winning.
