this #Lada Niva apparently had 3 gear shifts inside, or 3 similar sticks on the center console anyway. anybody know what these do? (handbrake was separate) #kphoto

@[email protected] The tallest stick is for gear changes, one of the short sticks is for selecting high / low ratio, the other is for turning on the differential lock to stop wheels spinning aimlessly when one is in mud.

I mean, I'm with you, but that's way off topic. I remember Ladas from my childhood in East Germany, they were among the rarer and usually unattainable cars, because they were reserved for party officials and other well connected people. My favourite though was the #Volga (#GAZ24) that my father had. It felt so huge, like being on a ship.
