@gutenberg_org It didn't change much though, the chemical industry came up with more and more new pesticides, and insect and bird populations have been declining for decades.

@LordCaramac @gutenberg_org Not completely. The phase out of DDT use was a big deal and many birds (eg bald eagles, falcons, pelicans) benefited a lot from that. https://www.enn.com/articles/40697

It breaks my heart that youngsters will never know the level of wildlife of my youth.
