Words matter.

The Trump regime did not "deport" a 2-year-old U.S. Citizen of Latino ethnicity—the Trump regime knowingly *Human Trafficked* a 2-year-old U.S. Citizen of Latino ethnicity.

That isn't just a violation of US Constitutional rights, it's a violation of international human rights law. In a just society the people responsible for this crime would face criminal prosecution. That is what should happen here.

@QasimRashid when trump and his cronies are removed from power, there needs to be a truth and reconciliation commission that is allowed to go back decades.

@QasimRashid I really don't get why people don't seem to understand that this is indeed human trafficking.

Period. Full stop.

It was illegal and unspeakable, but who were they "trafficked" to?

@daevidd @QasimRashid Different places depending. The most famously known example is El Salvador prisons where we pay for them to dehumanize people and put them in slave labor. (Yeah, we're paying them, so they get double benefits. That is how freaking screwed up this is.)

I don't know what is being done to the children and I really really don't want to think about it. I just want them to be saved now, not later.

I don't know what is wrong with the world that everyone isn't screaming at us.

What you have right there is a crime against all of humanity, and humanity has a duty to stop that dreadful madman. It would be best if it can be done without violence.

@QasimRashid in a similar vein of "words matter" i sincerely wish people and media stories would not refer to the deportation of persons in the country legally – some for years – as an "immigration crackdown"

@QasimRashid My (non-expert) understanding of human trafficking is that it must done for the purpose of labor or sexual exploitation to be trafficking. How does this scenario fit with that definition?

I have just seen a post on here saying people (senators) are back after teh weekend and asking if anyone will be impeached over the deportation of a 4 year old, I thought it was odd, when the child deported was reported as being 2 in other posts.
I am sticking with the latter but inconsistent information will serve the far right as they will argue we can't get our facts right.

@QasimRashid Again, the actual press must be careful in their word choice, to avoid libel. But the rest of us (well, mostly) are free to speak more freely.
