Because it's #IndieBookstoreDay, I did an experiment I've been wanting to do.

Bookshop.org now sells ebooks. The ones that are DRM-free – clearly marked on the site – can be downloaded & read on any device.

So I bought a book that had been on my 'to-buy' list ( @clpolk's "Soulstar”) & tested it on my favorite iOS ereader (Marvin) & on my Kindle. Total success.

You can also set your favorite indie bookshop as "your” shop, so they get the profit from the sale.

So much better than you-know-who.

(One minor caveat: I can't seem to get my 'preferred shop’ to 'stick’, which may be a cookie issue; I may just have to reset it each time I go to buy a book. Still, that’s a minor annoyance).
