For at least a month, even if the tariffs go to zero tomorrow! So: GIGANTIC supply chain shock heading towards the USA, with a duration of AT LEAST two months.

@cstross @ProgressiveLurker There will still be contracts in place and I suspect (but have zero evidence that) companies will still land goods and pay the tariffs. Sure, volumes will drop, but they won't stop. They can't stop. Surely?
Look, you remember Brexit? Yes? Trump did a Brexit. Only he did it in less than four weeks, rather than dithering for four years. That's the simple version. The US economy is about to have a Brexit fall on it, very suddenly and very hard, with no preparation.
