My new Ventoy stick that I carry around. Fascinated that the only ISO larger than Win10 is the new Ubuntu.
@bytebro All these have probalby different content? ;-)

@eigenraum
Erm, sure (also see the alt-text). All different versions of Linux except for the Win10 and the dban ones.

Helpful if I blag an older machine and just need to stick something on it for zero cost (except Win10, of course, which is normally used more for helping Windows-based friends recover from a screw-up!).

@bytebro If you screw up using Win10, it is just fine to install Debian. You can remove the Win-ISO from the stick.

@bytebro 5.8GiB for 'buntu! Must have statically compiled the binaries or perhaps its all snaps now.

I used to be a fan of their minimal installer for servers. It was something like 40MiB.

@gerdesj Sure - that's exactly what I use on my server/backup machine. Haven't upgraded that one yet - it's on the to-do list πŸ™‚

@bytebro

I have quite a few pet VMs that started off life as 14.04 minimals and are still running as 24.04.

Mind you I also have a VM that runs Gentoo that started off life as my desktop PC around 20 years ago.

A customer has a VM that started off life as 14.04 minimal install and is now 24.04 and runs Nextcloud (formally Owncloud). It's part of a safety related system and is quite important ... clickety click, clackety clack!
