Hier sind doch ein paar Menschen aus dem akademischen Umfeld. Ich denke gerade darüber nach, doch noch meine Doktorarbeit fertig zu machen, bzw neu anzufangen, Themenbereich überschneidend Technikphilosophie und Literatur (wer mich kennt findet das wenig überraschend). Hat jemand gute Tipps, wie man an eine bezahlte Doktoratsstelle in dem Bereich kommt? Oder weiß vielleicht sogar was Konkretes? Gerne englischsprachig, gerne remote.

Question for the academic bubble on the fediverse: I'm thinking about finishing my PhD (or rather starting a new one). I'd love to combine the topics tech-philosophy and literature. Any idea on how to find a paid position? I'm currently living in Vienna Austria. A remote position abroad would definitely be an option.

@viennawriter hard to get a paid position in the U.K. sadly unless it’s part of a funded project. I’d set up an alert on jobs.ac.uk - good luck!

@viennawriter (that said remote positions are very unlikely to be funded here - part of being able to pay you is that you have to be on a visa which requires you to live here)

@CatherineFlick Thanks! Getting paid positions seems to be hard everywhere. Remote isn't that usual anywhere, is it? Thanks for the link. I'll definitely have a look there.

@viennawriter we do remote PhDs but they’re self funded! If they pay you they like to see you come to things. Even then our remote ones require onsite training and meetings every 6m or so.
