A tornado took out the MQP VOR in Texas yesterday. It's part of the minimum network so it should be replaced but yikes. For those unfamiliar, VORs are an older technology for navigation that aircraft used (not used much anymore). However, if GPS becomes unusable they're all we have.

@Aut Adding "check for tornadoes taking out VORs" to my cross-country VFR preflight checklist, right between "check if the airfields on-route still issue METARs" and "check if the airfields on-route laid off their ATCs".
