IronHowl@micchiato I always felt that the youth lived in a bubble and didn't understand much about the world. But I have to revise my opinion. It seems they have more sense and life wisdom at their age than all those old farts at 70. 👍
Miles@micchiato My college has a high proportion of Hispanic students and I really do worry about their safety. I don't know what percentage are immigrants vs born in the USA, but even those that were born here are likely to have immigrant relatives. Also, I'm not confident that being born here is a protection against 'deportation'.
Administration has been keeping staff updated, but it feels like watchful waiting. The most meaningful thing I've seen is instructions on what to do if ICE shows up (
1. call campus police
2. you don't know anyone's immigration status and even if you didn't that privileged information).
It's frustrating. It's scary.
